The grounds are quiet and sunny for going outside and doing things like hand sewing in the sun or under a tree.

Upcoming 2015 dates for Dence Park are:

September 13
October 11
November 8
December 13

A gold coin donation is requested from all attendees, plus the additional $5 Insurance Levy for non-members. Newcomers pay the $5 insurance fee or a donation, they are not expected to pay both.

Location: The Epping Creative Centre, Dence Park, 26 Stanley Road, Epping, NSW 2121

Time: 9.30am – 4:30pm

If you would like to run a class for this day (or any other day for that matter) for adults or children (or both), we’d love to hear about it. Please email Tina/Cairistiona on tinofbeans001@gmail.com.

Time tables will be published about a week prior to each Dence Park day, please keep an eye out so that you know what is happening each month.

There is a break in the middle of the day’s schedule for a Pot Luck lunch. This would be a great time for anyone who would like to try out some of their period cooking on a receptive audience to bring out some of their creations. Alternatively just bring along something to share, it does not have to be a period dish. Remember to bring plates, cutlery, and a cup or mug if you wish to make a hot drink.

Bring a project you are working on, start a new project or come and learn something new, or even just bring a game to share and play.

This is a child–friendly event with boffer and games. All persons under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Trains: there are regular trains to Epping Station. Epping Station is 1.1 km from Dence Park, so the walk from the Station will take about 10-15 minutes.

Buses: you can catch the M54, which goes near Epping Station on Beecroft Rd every 20 minutes on weekends and will take you to within 500 meters of the Creative Centre. If you get off at the Epping Road near Crandon bus stop just two stops or if you miss that one the next stop will get you to within 80 meters of the Centre.

Cars: there is plenty of parking, a small portion of which is double parking, so please be aware of this.

Hi everybody,

A few of us who live in western Sydney and struggle to make it to the regular Rowany practice because of work/family commitments have decided to have a fighter practice every couple of weekends. We will try to ensure that it does not clash with the Rowany war practices.

The first practice will be held at Parramatta Park on Sunday 30 August from 2pm.

Thanks, Chuck (Sir Jock Mactavish)

New Rowany Marshal sought

Greetings from Sigvaldr Sviðandi, Rowany Marshal

As I must soon stand down from my position as Rowany Marshal, I am looking for a brave soul to stand up and take over this task. Until I am able to step down, this position will be a deputy to work on handover together and bring you up to speed on anything you need to know. This position includes liaising with Rowany Senate, Seneschal, and Kingdom Earl Marshal on any martial matters you or they deem of interest.

The Marshal is in charge of combat-related activities. Your charter will be to promote armoured and missile combat, and to work with the Rapier Marshal as needed to promote both fields of combat. You will be part of the appeals and reporting chain for incidents and events under the Rowany banner and her sub-groups, such as Stowe and St Ursula.
You do not have to be an authorised Marshal or Senior Marshal, but it does help.

If you wish to volunteer or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Sigvaldr Sviðandi
